Biology: Polyphagous (Browne 1961a, Schedl 1963). The gallery system branches in three dimensions and may penetrate deeply into the wood. It has no brood chambers (Browne 1961a). The species has some potential as a pest because of its deeply-penetrating galleries and very wide host range (Browne 1961a, Schedl 1963).
