Thai distribution: (unspecified province) (Sampson 1921). No later records from Thailand.

Other distribution: Brunei Darussalam, Malaysia (E. & W.). Wood and Bright (1992) include India in the distribution, but we have seen no actual records of the species in that country. (3)

Biology: Recorded from Canarium (Burseraceae), Dipterocarpus (Dipterocarpaceae) and an unidentified genus of Lauraceae (Browne 1961a) . Small stems are usually attacked. The gallery system has a circumferential tunnel in the transverse plane, and one or more longitudinal branches in which the larvae develop (Browne 1961a).
