Biology: This species is unusual amongst Xyleborus in attacking only species of Pinus (Pinaceae), and is hence confined to the mountains of North Thailand. In Thailand it has been recorded from both Pinus kesiya and P.merkusii . The gallery system has not been described, but is likely to resemble that of other Xyleborus species.
