Discussion. Archimediella miotaurina Sacco, 1895 was originally described from the early Miocene of the Torino Hills. Sieber (1960) reported this species also from the Badenian of Pöls in the Styrian Basin. This identification was based on a single fragmentary specimen, which is clearly conspecific with Ptychidia partschi . A second fragmentary specimen from the early Miocene of Várpalota in Hungary was identified as Turritella miotaurina by Kókay (1972) and Steininger et al. (1973). Sculpture and profile suggest, that this specimen might rather represent Oligodia bicarinata (Eichwald, 1830) .
