Etymology. This epithet is taken from the Latin adjective longulus, meaning rather long, and refers to the long antennomere 11.
Remarks. Immediately distinguishable by the very long bar to the dumb-bell shaped antennomere 11, a character which is shared by only one other species, D. dolorosum, from which it may be separated by the less hooked form of the aedeagus which lacks a narrowed tip, and by the less angled lateral margins of the pronotum. If the females are sexually dimorphic and have a shorter antennomere 11 (cf. Cissidium banari sp. n.) they may be present amongst those associated with the males from the same site assigned to the morphologically similar D. fabrum .
