Dacrysoma nigerrimum sp. n.

Habitus Fig. 12. Length 0.87–0.89 mm. Colour: dark brown, the dorsum appearing almost black in some lights, antennae and legs yellow. Antennomeres 3–11 Fig. 47. Pronotum 0.25 mm long, 0.34 mm wide, Figs. 57, 68. Elytra 0.54 mm long, 0.45 mm wide, more finely punctured than pronotum and pubescence shorter. Micropterous, wings reduced to remnant only.
Female: spermatheca Fig. 85.
Male: not known.
Etymology. This epithet is taken from the Latin adjective niger meaning dark-coloured and refers to the species’ overall dark colouration.
Remarks. The dark colour, distinctive rounded shape and puncturation of the pronotum and elytra, and absence of flight wings will quickly serve to determine this species.
Type data. Holotype: ♀, Ranomafana N.P., RNF/13.2011, litter, sifting, Winkler app. extr. S.21˚15’13.5’’. E.47˚24’[?]09.8’’, 16.iv.2011, L.S.Rahanitriniaina & R.Raveloson (BMNH). Paratypes: 2 ♀, same data as holotype (BMNH).
