Deuterodiscoelius and Pseudozethus
Giordani Soika (1977: 109) published a new locality record for Deuterodiscoelius verreauxi (de Saussure 1852), stating that van der Vecht had informed him that Deuterodiscoelius Dalla Torre 1904 was the valid name for this genus. The species had been previously placed by him in the genus Pseudozethus Perkins 1914, but he did not mention that genus name, and provided a new combination for just one of the other species in the genus. Cardale (1985) noted the new combinations, but continued to use Pseudozethus as the name for the genus, not otherwise mentioning Deuterodiscoelius . As Carpenter (1986: 68) laid out, both genera have the same type species, hence Pseudozethus is an objective junior synonym of Deuterodiscoelius .
