Distribution: Cosmopolitan.
Ethology: No reports on Australian species. Elsewhere the nesting habits are diverse. The majority of species nest in pre-existing cavities, in twigs, stems, human structures, or in old nests of other wasps. A few species make mud cells on rocks, and a few dig burrows. Prey: caterpillars.
