Adult. (Fig. 10A, D). Wingspan 14 mm.
Diagnosis. The holotype deposited in the NHMUK is illustrated in Fig. 10D, with its wing venation (Fig. 10F).
Male genitalia (Figs. 11A – C). See also Janse (1954, Pl. 142, Fig. 5 - line drawing; Pl. 152, Fig. 4 - photo). The figure of the male genitalia given by Janse (1954, Pl. 148, Fig. 4) was erroneously placed near those of other species.

Material examined. 1♀ (holotype) [South Africa] in the NHMUK; more than 15 specimens are placed under the name of P. maculata in TMSA. Of these, the genitalia of a male (P.P.Rust, 23 vii [19]25, A.J.T. Janse) were dissected (gen. slide no. CIS-7211/ Park) .
