Material examined. None.

Distribution. West Pacific (the Ryukyus, Taiwan, China, Philippines, Borneo, Indonesia, New Guinea). Remarks. According to Crane (1975: map 7), U. triangularis consists of two geographic subspecies. U. triangularis triangularis is distributed in the western Pacific and U. triangularis bengali Crane, 1975, in the eastern Indian Ocean. Both are now regarded as separate species (Ng et al. 2008). U. triangularis is a relatively small species (CW <16.5 mm) and prefers high intertidal habitats (Crane 1975), and for these reasons, it may have been overlooked by collectors in the past. For example, it has only relatively recently been recorded from Taiwan (Wang 1984) and Penghu (Hung 1997). Therefore, although there is only one record of U. triangularis from China (Guangdong), more records from other provinces are likely after careful surveys.
