Genus Allococalodes Wanless

Wanless (1982) described the genus Allococalodes for two species, each known from a single male. The body is more compact and the carapace higher than in Cocalodes . The palp lacks the expanded conductor of Cocalodes, and instead resembles the palpi of Lapsias Simon or Thrandina Maddison, having a relatively simple and short embolus, conductor and median apophysis. Here described is a new species, known from males and females. Because the known traits distinguishing Allococalodes from Cocalodes are probably ancestral, the monophyly of the genus is not assured, but the new species is placed there provisionally based on close similarity with the two described species.
