Remarks. The holotype and the only known specimen of Ropalidia crassa van der Vecht, 1941, have been lost (Kojima & Carpenter, 1997) and the identity of this species is yet uncertain. We have searched in vain for specimens that fit the description of R. crassa by van der Vecht (1941) among the many specimens in MZB and IUNH.
