Type locality and habitat.

Sri Lanka, Kalpitiya, on inflorescence of coral tree, Erythrina sp. ( Fabaceae).

Remarks.

I suspect this species to be a junior synonym of Neocypholaelaps stridulans (Evans, 1963). Differential characters for separating Neocypholaelaps ceylonicus from N. stridulans given by Narita and Moraes (2011) and Silva et al. (2014) are questionable and not well founded.
