Parastethorus histrio (Chazeau, Etienne and Fürsch)
Stethorus incompletus Whitehead, 1967: 1564 —synonymized by Chazeau 1979: 296 (nomen nudum). Stethorus histrio Chazeau, Etienne and Fürsch 1974: 269 .
There are some nomenclatural issues regarding name validity (whether the senior name is valid or a nomen nudum) which have been exposed by Houston (1990) and Chazeau (1979, 1995). Recorded from Australia, New Zealand, La Réunion, Chile and Mexico, it is regularly collected from open areas including orchards and secondary shrubs. In New Caledonia, according to Chazeau (1979), this is a specialist feeder on Tetranychidae mites, such as Oligonychus thelytokus Gutierrez, Tetranychus neocaledonicus André and Schizotetranychus fauveli Gutierrez.
