Dimensions. ♂ Truncuslänge 13 mm. ♀ (not mentioned)

Oldest label. Daesia simoni Krpln, ex typis, E. Simon l. 4.VIII.1899, Obok ( Kraepelin handwriting).

Additional label. Biton simoni (Krpl.), 2 ♂, 2♀, 1pull. -Typ—Oboik, revid. 1931. Roewer—No. 8240 (Roewer handwriting).

Type material. Paralectotypes 2♂, 2♀ (ZMH-A0000172).

Taxonomic remarks. Kraepelin specifically mentions that the specimens belong to the E. Simon collection. Delle Cave & Simonetta (1971: 49) examined all the specimens held at MNHN (2♂, 8♀ and 4 juv.) and designated 1♂ as the “ Lectotype ” from the MNHN (No. 12725) which renders the ZMH specimens paralectotypes. We did not re-examine the specimen in the MNHN collection but suggest that this specimen should be imaged as the primary reference for this species.

Collection remarks. Obok is a small port town in Djibouti, located at the northern shore of the Gulf of Tadjoura.
