Type locality and type specimens. nur ♀—Ost-Afrika (Mkalama)—(vidi 3 ♀, Typus). Dimensions. Körperlänge 28 mm. [26.28; 32.22]

Type material. Lectotype ♀ juvenile here designated (ZMH-A0000751).
Taxonomic remarks. Roewer mentioned three specimens in his description but only one specimen is present at the ZMH. No additional specimens have been found at the SMF or ZMB where most of Roewer’s material is located.
Collection remarks. Mkalama District lies in northern Tanzania and the specimens were collected by Erich Obst during his in 1911/12 expedition. According to the ZMH records, Obst was traveling from the northernmost part of the Turu country to Lake Balangida in north-central Tanzania between 13– 19.04.1911.
Current systematic position. Solpugidae, Zeria kraepelini (Roewer 1933) .
