Galeodes blanchardi Simon 1891
Simon 1891: 198–199 (as Galeodes Blanchardi sp. nov.)
Type locality and specimens. Cette espèce a été trouvée par M. le Dr. Blanchard, à Kef-el-Dor, sur la rive nordouest du chott Melrir.
Dimensions. ♂ ♀ long. 28–35mm.
Oldest label. Galeodes Blanchardi E. S. 8606, Alg. merid. (probably E. Simon handwriting)
Additional label. Galeodes blanchardi E. Sim. ex typis, E. Simon, d. 28.IX.1898, Süd-Algier (Kraepelin handwriting).
Type material. Syntype ♂ (ZMH-A0000750).
Taxonomic remarks. Simon examined at least one male and one female for his description but the exact number of specimens is unknown. The ZMH collection has one male and the label states that it comes from the type series “ex-typis”. This specimen was determined by E. Simon in 1898 but there is probably another male in Paris. Contra Weidner (1959: 110), not paratype.
Collection remarks. The type locality is Qued Melrir in Algeria.
Current systematic position. Galeodidae, Galeodes blanchardi Simon 1891 .
