Phryganogryllacris Karny, 1937
Type species: Gryllacris phryganoides De Haan, 1842
Diagnosis. Usually slender species of varying size. Wings uncolored sub-hyaline, distinctly surpassing body, in some species little shortened. Male ninth abdominal tergite only with a pair of hooks rather widely varying in shape and arrangement, but with apices always directed sideward; tenth tergite reduced up to a narrow transverse stripe, unarmed or in some species with a pair of tubercles in middle. Female seventh abdominal sternite often with a pair of posterior, usually simple copulatory depressions; subgenital plate separated by a membranous zone from preceding sternite, hind margin usually simply rounded or slightly truncate or concave in middle. Ovipositor elongate, straight or little curved, with subacute tip.
