Type species: Ultragryllacris pulchra Gorochov & Dawwrueng, 2015 ( Ultragryllacris pulchra pulchra)

Diagnosis. The genus is characterized by the strongly modified and projecting male ninth abdominal tergite that is obviously moveable against the preceding eight tergite, the large median ocellus and by the pale general color that is almost ivory white when alive, interspersed with black spots.
