Monseremus gen. nov.
Type species: Monseremus appendiculatus sp. nov.
Diagnosis. The new genus is established for a new species that is superficially similar to Neanias but is completely apterous as in Eremus. It differs from both genera and also from winged Gryllacridinae by a modification of the female subgenital plate, which is provided at anterior margin with a pair of conspicuous horn shaped projections. It can be supposed that these structures play a part during pairing with a male. Thus, one can suspect that the unknown males have corresponding modifications of the abdominal apex. A minor difference to Neanias and Eremus is also the straight ovipositor in Monseremus, which is often slightly curved in both other genera.
