Anancistrogera Karny, 1937
Typus generis: Gryllacris brachyptera Gerstaecker, 1860
Discussion. Species of the genera Anancistrogera and Aphanogryllacris are very similar in habitus. Both genera contain species with more or less reduced wings. Anancistrogera contains the species with longer, Aphanogryllacris those with shorter wings as already noted in Karny (1937). In both genera we find a similar venation of tegmen with (1) the media posterior is arising from media anterior or (2) MP+CuA1 are fully fused after a short connection branch from or short temporary fusion with MA; in the first case both cubital veins are undivided, in the second case media anterior is undivided. The female subgenital plates are of the same type in both genera (Karny 1937). The male abdominal appendages resemble the situation in Capnogryllacris . The outline of the genus Anancistrogera is in need of a revision and its differences to or identity with Aphanogryllacris should be verified.
