Apotrechus unicolor Brunner von Wattenwyl, 1888
Figs. 39 H–I
Lectotype female (not seen). Australia: "Port Denison in Australia septentrionali" (in alcohol), ( Wien NMHW); lectotype designation by Bland & Rentz (1991).
Material examined. Australia: "New Holland", 1861, Dr. Müller— 1 female (Wien NMHW) .
Discussion. The genus Apotrechus s. str. is restricted to Australia (see also discussion in Bland & Rentz 1991). Since until recently also some Asian species have been included in this genus, two illustrations of a female of the syntype series of A. unicolor are added (Fig. 39 H–I). That specimen is characterized by a huge head compared to the Chinese species described under this genus. The latter are very similar to species of the genus Apterolarnaca Gorochov, 2004 . The main difference seems to be the straight instead of curved male hind tibiae. As I have not seen a specimen of the Chinese Apotrechus, I'll leave it to future investigators to study and proof the identity or the difference between both groups of species.
