Pardogryllacris dyak inquinata (Karny, 1928c)

Holotype (male): Indonesia: Sumatra, leg. Hagen—(München ZSM).

Discussion. X. inquinata has been described by Karny (1928c) as subspecies of G. dyak Griffini, 1909i and later transferred to Pardogryllacris (Karny 1937) probably due to the fact that X. inquinata has most cross-veins of the fore wings darkened as is the case in the subgenus Pardogryllacris . X. inquinata does not have the strongly modified male ninth abdominal tergite that is typical for Pardogryllacris but it has the tip of that tergite slightly bilobate and is provided in the concave space between these lobes with a pair of compressed, slightly curved, acute teeth. A character state occurring in Xanthogryllacris . Thus X. inquinata should be transferred to Xanthogryllacris .

G. dyak Griffini, 1909i has been described after two females from Kuching. Karny (1929d) describes a male from the same locality including a figure but no verbal description of the male abdominal apex. According to that figure, G. dyak also does not belong to Pardogryllacris but to decide about its actual position, a re-examination of the types would be necessary.
