Plekocheilus (Eurytus) episcopalis episcopalis (Pfeiffer, 1855)

(Figs 10 A–C)

Bulimus episcopalis Pfeiffer 1855b: 115 . Type locality: Colombia, Bogotá. Lectotype BMNH 1953.11.30.1 (Breure 1978). Plectostylus [sic] episcopalis (Pfeiffer); Richardson 1995: 297 (references).

Material. Cundinamarca, Bogotá: CM 62.4697 (ex Hartman Colln, as P. coloratus lamarckianus), ANSP 78576 (leg./1900), USNM 532635 (ex Fulton), UMMZ 242808 (Marsh Colln), UMMZ 147714 (partim, ex Tomlin & C. Caziot); Bogata [sic, Bogotá]: FMNH 31122 (W.F. Webb Colln).

Remarks. We consider now this taxon to differ only subspecifically from P. e. auriformis and P. e. corticosus, despite the fact that there is no precise locality known. It differs from both taxa by (1) having the columella less folded; (2) having a larger aperture that is more ovate; (3) the sculpture of the last whorl being granulate, but giving a slight impression of being arranged in spiral structures (Fig. 10 C).
