Remarks. This taxon differs from P. e. episcopalis by having (1) a stronger columellar fold; (2) a relatively smaller aperture. Piperal is a small village on the road from Bogotá to Villavicencio, 600–700 m elevation. Gachetá is NE of Bogotá. All localities are on the eastern escarpments of the Cordillera Oriental. The specimen from Antioquia, Frontino is only tentatively referred to this taxon; it is the only record from the Cordillera Central for this species. Although elevations are not given in the labels, an altitudinal range of 450–1800 m may be inferred from the localities above.
