COMMENT: Includes insularis; but see Corbet, 1978:35. Formerly included in Talpa; see Imaizumi, 1970, The Handbook of Japanese Land Mammals, Vol. 1; Gureev, 1979; Gromov and Baranova, 1981:15. According to SW, coreana is a subspecies of wogura .
