Diagnosis. Mesonotum with acr in 6 rows. Abdominal tergite 5 with a pair of small brown spots, its diameter equal to or shorter than half height of tergite 5; surstylus slender, acute apically and extended straight in lateral view.

Redescription. MALE. Body length 3.3–3.4 mm, wing length 3.2–3.5 mm.

Head (Figs 82, 83) pale yellow. Frons yellow with short setulae (denser than in H. nudifrons) and a pair of pale brown medial stripes extending to ocellar triangle (sometimes absent), 1.4 times as long as wide and parallel-sided; ocellar triangle pale brown, oc short, about half length of anterior or; anterior or shorter than posterior or. Gena about 1/8 height of eye. Antenna yellow, 1st flagellomere about 1.7 times as long as high; arista almost bare (with microscopic ray), black except for brownish base. Proboscis and palpus pale yellow.

Thorax (Figs 84, 85) pale yellow. Mesonotum with 0+3 dc (1st post-sutural dc clearly behind transverse suture), acr in irregular 6 rows and prsc as long as 1st post-sutural dc. Scutellum pale yellow. Legs pale yellow. Fore femur with 3–4 pv, 6 pd, and ctenidium with 11–13 short setae; fore tibia with 1 long preapical ad and 1 short apv. Mid femur with 5 a and 1 app; mid tibia with 1 strong preapical ad and 2 strong apv. Hind femur with 1 weak preapical ad and a row of av on apical 1/2 (only one is strongest); hind tibia with 1 preapical ad and 2 apv. Wing (Fig. 86) clear; subcostal cell hyaline; costa with 2nd (between R1 and R2+3), 3rd (between R2+3 and R4+5) and 4th (between R4+5 and M1) sections in proportion of 5:1.4:1; r-m at middle of discal cell; ultimate and penultimate sections of M 1 in proportion of 1:1.3; ultimate section of CuA1 about 1/6 of penultimate. Halter pale yellow.

Abdomen (Fig. 87) pale yellow, tergite 5 with a pair of black round lateral spot, its diameter equal to or shorter than half height of tergite 5 in dorsal view. Male genitalia (Figs 88–91): syntergosternite semicircular, lateral arms very narrow; epandrium with four pairs of long dorsal setae; surstylus narrow straight knife-like in lateral view and slightly wide with a small apical teeth in ventral view; hypandrium close to H-shaped with a median ventral process in ventral view, hypandrial apodeme very small; postgonite broad and furcated with three setulae in ventral view; aedeagus slender with two asymmetrical long knife-like dorsal sclerites in ventral view; aedeagal apodeme shorter than aedeagus.

Remarks. One paratype (an additional male from Kankau in USNM) is actually Homoneura nudifrons (Kertész, 1913) .
