Lauxania simplicissima Meijere, 1910: 132 . Type locality: Indonesia (Sumatra). Syntypes in HNHM (1 ♀), NNM (1 ♂, 1 ♀), ZMAN (6 ♂, 4 ♀).

Diagnosis. Parafacial with a row of setulae on ventral 1/2 of inner margin (top one is longest). Ray long plumose, about 1.5 times as high as 1st flagellomere. Wing with brown stripe-like spot on dm-cu. Abdomen yellow, tergites 5–6 with posterior marginal setae stretching out, almost angle 90° with tergites.
Redescription. MALE. Body length 3.2–3.6 mm, wing length 3.2–3.6 mm. FEMALE. Body length 2.5–3.8 mm, wing length 3.2–3.5 mm.
Head (Figs 261–262) yellow. Frons pale brown, with yellow anterior margin and a medial stripe extending to ocellar triangle (or yellow medial stripe absent), about 1.2 times as wide as long and parallel-sided; ocellar triangle yellow, oc shorter than anterior or; anterior or shorter than posterior or. Parafacial with a row of setulae on ventral 1/2 of inner margin (top one is longest). Gena about 1/5 height of eye, with a long seta. Antenna yellow or brownish yellow, 1st flagellomere about 1.5 times as long as high; arista black except for brownish base, ray long plumose, about 1.5 times as high as 1st flagellomere. Proboscis and palpus yellow.
Thorax (Figs 263–264) yellow. Mesonotum with 0+3 dc (1st post-sutural dc clearly behind transverse suture), acr in irregular 8 rows and prsc as long as 1st post-sutural dc. Scutellum yellow, apical scutellar setae crossed. Legs yellow. Fore femur with 4–5 pv, 6 pd, and ctenidium with 11–14 short setae; fore tibia with 1 long preapical ad and 1 short apv. Mid femur with 4–5 a and 1 app; mid tibia with 1 strong preapical ad and 2–3 strong apv. Hind femur with 1 weak preapical ad and a row of av; hind tibia with 1 preapical ad and 1 apv. Wing (Fig. 266) with brown stripe-like spot on dm-cu; subcostal cell hyaline; costa with 2nd (between R1 and R2+3), 3rd (between R2+3 and R4+5) and 4th (between R4+5 and M1) sections in proportion of 8.7:1.4:1; r-m before middle of discal cell; ultimate and penultimate sections of M 1 in proportion of 1:1.4; ultimate section of CuA1 about 1/7 of penultimate. Halter pale yellow.
Abdomen (Fig. 265) yellow, tergites 5–6 with posterior marginal setae stretching out, almost angle 90° with tergites. Male genitalia (Figs 267–271): syntergosternite circular without dorsal setulae; epandrium with three pairs of long dorsal setae and broaden apically with a row of long setae; surstylus finger-like in lateral view and acute and upcurved apically in ventral view; hypandrium broad bar-like in ventral view; postgonite slender, subuliform; aedeagus gradually becoming narrow in ventral view, with a middle and distal dorsal process in lateral view; aedeagal apodeme shorter than aedeagus.
