Description. General: (Figs 188–190) Body length 1.9–2.9mm. Arista pubescent. M1+2 ratio 3.3–3.9. First flagellomere not enlarged, nearly circular, slightly higher than long. Female unknown.
Chaetotaxy: Three fronto-orbital setae, decreasing in height anteriorly. Ocellar seta thin, 1.0–1.5 times longer than ocellar tubercle. Postvertical seta slightly shorter than ocellar tubercle. Interfrontal seta minute. Anterior dorsocentral half length of posterior dorsocentral; closely spaced near posterior margin of scutum. Acrostichal seta present (absent, possibly broken off in holotype). One thin lateral scutellar. Most notal setae missing in holotype.
Colour: Setae yellow to light brownish-yellow. Head yellow with antenna and head below frons light yellow to whitish; parafacial, gena and postgena silvery tomentose; back of head with one pair of stripes that join above foramen and continue onto lateral corner of frons, reaching base of inner vertical seta. Scutum with brown stripe along lateral and anterior margins of scutum that extend onto dorsal half of postpronotum and are confluent posteriorly with one pair of pointed postsutural intra-alar stripes. Scutellum yellow with lateral brown stripe. Metanotum brown with posterior margin of katatergite sometimes yellow. Pleuron and legs light yellow. Wing clear, faintly infuscated anterodistally. Halter pale. Abdomen brown with tergite 1 yellow to brownish, and ventral margin of epandrium, surstylus and cercus yellow.
Male terminalia: (Figs 191–193) [Not examined] Surstylus approximately ¾ height of epandrium, rounded apically, slightly produced past epandrium posterodorsally, and with small tubercle-like setae along inner surface on distal and posterodistal margins. Phallapodeme rod-like. Basiphallus and epiphallus well-developed. Distiphallus appearing similar in form to A. plicatum, with lateral sclerotized sheets joined basally, but with distal half membranous with one pair of ovate sclerites. Paraphallus well-developed, strongly curved and minutely spinulose on dorsal surface.
