Type Locality: "Arracan" [Arakan, Burma].

Vernacular Names: Red-cheeked Flying Squirrel.

Distribution: Burma, Thailand, S Vietnam, Sumatra, and Malaysia.

Conservation: IUCN – Lower Risk (lc).

Discussion: Includes harrisoni; see Medway (1977:105). Formerly included sipora; see Hill (1961 c). Corbet and Hill (1980:137) listed spadiceus in lepidus, without comment.
