Type Locality: "Les forêts Qui couvrent la chaine montagneuse du Tscheli" [= Chihli, old name for Hebei Prov., China].

Vernacular Names: Complex-toothed Flying Squirrel.

Synonyms: Trogopterus edithae Thomas 1923; Trogopterus himalaicus Thomas 1914; Trogopterus minax Thomas 1923; Trogopterus mordax Thomas 1914 .

Distribution: Montane forests, from Yunnan to C and E China.

Conservation: IUCN – Endangered.

Discussion: No subspecies recognized (Corbet and Hill, 1992).
