Genus Pseudocolochirus Pearson, 1910

Type species. Colochirus violaceus Théel, 1886, by monotypy.
Emended diagnosis (Thandar & Samyn 2004). Small to medium-sized cucumariid species, with 10 tentacles, of more or less equal size. Large pedicels restricted to three ventral radii, while small pedicels and/or papillae scattered in interradii and two dorsal radii. Anus dorsal, surrounded by anal teeth. Body ossicles scarce or numerous, comprising large or small perforated plates and/or rods of variable thickness, with holes often occluded, few large reticulate rosace-like plates also present.
