Genus Favonius Sibatani & Ito (= Quercusia Verity)

This is a monospecific genus in our area, represented by Favonius quercus (Linnaeus) . The micropyle is found within a depression that has a flat reticulated surface whose cells have thick walls. The rest of the egg shows polygonal cells with high walls, whose corners are like small chimneys, often having an aeropyle at the tip. The bottom of these cells has a rough texture.
