Xenapates aequatorialis Koch, 1995: 378 . Locus typicus: Congo belge [Democratic Republic of the Congo], Kivu, Rutshuru. Holotype: ♂. Congo belge: Kivu, Rutshuru, 1285 m, 02.VII.1935, G. F. De Witte (MRAC).

Ethiopian material. Lake Tana, Bahar Dar [= Baher Dar, 11°36'N 037°23'E], leg. Schäuffele (SMNS). Distribution. Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ethiopia, Kenya, Uganda.

Remarks. Xenapates aequatorialis belongs to the X. variator species group that was revised by Koch (2012c).
