Sarcophaga cincta Villeneuve, 1910 in Becker, 1910: 146. Type locality: Yemen, Socotra Archipelago, Samḥah I.

Remarks. Listed from Yemen (Socotra) as part of Saudi Arabia by Abu-Zoherah et al. (1993, as Pseudodiscachaeta cincta without further data). The nominal species, which is known only from the type locality, is in need of a taxonomic revision (Pape 1996), but it has not been possible to trace the type material. The nominal species may represent a species of the genus Blaesoxipha Loew [“La tête étant conformée comme chez Sarc. lineata Fall. [= Blaesoxipha lapidosa Pape], il n’est pas impossible que cette espèce prenne place un jour dans le s.genre Gesneriades” (Villeneuve 1910: 146)]. The nominal species was not mentioned by Verves & Khrokalo (2018).
