12. Kalanchoe sexangularis Brown (1913: 120) (Fig. 11).

Type:—[ SOUTH AFRICA]. Mpumalanga province, from Barberton, 2531 (-CC), date on which material collected in South Africa unknown, specimen prepared on 26 February 1913, George Thorncroft s.n. (holotype K barcode K000232850! [Image of the specimen available for examination online at http://specimens.kew.org/herbarium/ K000232850]) .

Notes:— Figueiredo et al. (2016: 95, 97–99) and Smith (2023c: 273–274) comprehensively discussed the typification of the name K. sexangularis and aspects of the taxonomy of the species.

The name K. rubinea Tölken (1978: 90) is at present treated as a synonym of K. sexangularis (see for example Descoings 2003: 175, Guillot Ortiz et al. 2008: 71, Sanz Elorza et al. 2011, Figueiredo et al. 2016, and Smith et al. 2019).
