Remarks. This species was described based on a single specimen from French Guiana. Breuning (1961) described G. macrophthalma based on a single female also from French Guiana. Tavakilian (1997) synonymized G. macrophthalma with Drycothaea angustifrons . Currently, it is known from Suriname, French Guiana and Brazil (Amapá, Amazonas, Rondônia, Pará, and Maranh„o) (Bezark 2023b; Monné 2023b; Tavakilian & Chevillotte 2023). Bezark (2023b) also listed Ecuador and the Brazilian state of Bahia.
