European distribution: Austria, Belarus (?) (as Chernes cf. cimicoides), Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czechia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Romania, Russia (European part), Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom (Sammet et al. 2016; ČervenÁ et al. 2020c; WPC 2024).
Notes: Chernes cimicoides was rarely found in Bratislava, in tree hollows (KrajčovičovÁ & ChristophoryovÁ 2014), in the substrate (ChristophoryovÁ 2013) and in the Malaise trap (KrajčovičovÁ & ChristophoryovÁ 2014). No new sampling sites of the species in Bratislava were recorded.
