European distribution: Austria, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Czechia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Poland, Romania, Russia (European part), Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom (Sammet et al. 2016; WPC 2024).
Notes: Allochernes wideri is a widespread species in Bratislava and a typical inhabitant of tree hollows (KrajčovičovÁ & Christophoryová 2014; Christophoryová et al. 2016, 2017b). It was also found in bird nests (Christophoryová et al. 2011a; KrajčovičovÁ et al. 2015), Malaise trap (KrajčovičovÁ & ChristophoryovÁ 2014), soil, leaf litter and pitfall traps (Krumpál & Christophoryová 2007; Christophoryová et al. 2016; ČervenÁ et al. 2020b). Only four new sampling sites were added to the species distribution in Bratislava, collected using pitfall traps and sifting of leaf litter and dead wood.
