Notes: Chthonius ressli is an epigeic species that occurs mainly in leaf litter and decomposing material (Christophoryová et al. 2016, 2017c). During this study, five sampling sites were added to the species distribution in Bratislava, and most of the samples confirmed the species’ habitat preferences. The occurrence of dead animals represents a new habitat type for the species. A total of 42 individuals representing all developmental stages were found on decomposing rats of different stages of decomposition.
