Mysmenopsis Simon, 1898

Type species: Mysmenopsis femoralis Simon, 1898

Diagnosis. (modified from Lopardo & Hormiga 2015; Dupérré & Tapia 2015).

Males with one or two tibial clasping spurs (Figs 24, 122); one or two metatarsal clasping spurs (Figs 24, 64); with prolateral row of modified setae on the distal half of tarsus I (Lopardo & Hormiga 2015: figs 54G, 59D); male palpal tibia either globular or elongated-globular (Figs 6, 149); a prolateral cymbium without internal conductor grooves or cymbial fold, but with a distinct tip, and with a hook-shaped paracymbium bent inwards (Fig. 56). Females often with distal ventral projection on femur I (Figs 5, 15, 25), sometimes absent (Figs 133, 194); epigynum with a sclerotized protruding or flat epigynal plate; dorsal plate anterior margin extending internally towards the copulatory openings (Figs 211, 224, 228); fertilization ducts curving and semi-transparent apically (Figs 225, 231).

Distribution. USA, México, Honduras, Costa Rica, Cuba, Jamaica, Trinidad, St. Vincent, Panamá, Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, Brazil and Peru.
