Type material. Holotype (MNHN-IM-2000-5941), 5 paratypes (MNHN-IM-2000-5940) and 2 paratypes (ZISP 2301).

Type locality. Vanuatu, SE of Espiritu Santo Island, 15°48'S, 167°24'E, 775–798 m, Musorstom 8 st. CP1074.

Material examined. Two paratypes (ZISP), Taiwan, Bashi Channel, N/O Fishery Researcher 1, “ TAIWAN 2000”, stn CP38, 21°32.1’N, 120°48.1’E, 1314–1317 m, 9 spms, BL 6.0–21.0 mm, 0 1.08.2000.

Distribution. Near Vanuatu, Solomon Islands and now off Taiwan, 475–1314 m. The find off Taiwan extends the distribution of this species considerably.

Remarks. Specimens from Taiwan do not differ from the paratypes from ZISP.
