Distribution in Croatia: Continental belt of the Dinaric Alps in the northern and central Croatia, high density of certain populations observed (Velebit Mt. (Šegotine krčevine): Rebrina & Tvrtković 18.VII.2013, Velika Kapela Mt. (Podbitoraj): Mt. (Podbitoraj): Tvrtković 12. VI.2015): Also on isolated Dalmatian mountains (e.g. Biokovo Mt.).

Distribution in Europe: Widely distributed in the Balkan Peninsula, inhabits also Northern and Central Italy, and Southern France to the Pyrenees, in the north reaching Central Germany and Southern Poland (Hochkirch et al. 2016).
