Diagnosis.
Body is elongated and convex; head is pale in males and black with anterior yellow border in females. Pronotum is black except for a narrow testaceous border on the anterior margin. Elytra are black with yellowish, reddish or pale, nearly quadrangular shoulder spot along the proximal two-thirds. Specimens of this species were found mostly in natural ecosystems, although it has been reported as a predator of the cowpea aphid, Aphis craccivora Koch, 1854, in Nigeria (Waterhouse 1998).

It was collected from Asir, Baha, and Jizan.
World distribution.
This species has been reported from South, Central, and West Africa; Yemen (Raimundo and van Harten 2000); new country record for Saudi Arabia.
