Zoogeographic element. European.

Distribution. Widespread in Europe, from southern Finland and central Scandinavia in the north to Spain and central Italy in the south, and Central-Eastern Europe (Romania).

Distribution in Romania. Epigeal records. Şura-Mare (KL78), Braşov (LL85), Reghin (LM28), Sibiu (KL77), Sighişoara (LM21) (Kuthy 1896; Petri 1912); Sic-Pästäraia (GS29) (Niţu 2007). Hypogeal records. Cloşani-Steiul Roşu (FQ49) (MSS) (Nitzu & Ilie 2004) (Fig. 3).

Ecological status. Trogloxene.
