Zoogeographic element. Euro-Caucasian.

Distribution. Species with discontinous European range, northward from Sweden to the Urals, westward to Ireland and England, southward from North Italy to the northern part of the Balkan Peninsula (Serbia, Montenegro) and eastward to the Caucasus.

Distribution in Romania. Epigeal records. Sibiu (KL77), Şura Mare (KL78), Sighişoara (LM 21) (all: Kuthy 1896); Braşov (LL85), Härman (LL96) (both: Petri 1912; Jeannel 1936); Bucegi Mt. (LL82) (Ieniştea 1941); Mägura Mt. (LL 64) (Worell 1951). Hypogeal records. Casian (PK12) (Nitzu 2002) (Fig. 13). Ecological status. Trogloxene.
