Zoogeographic element. Holarctic.

Distribution. Widespread in Europe (excepting the southern part of the Balkan Peninsula), extending to northern and eastern Russia and Oriental region. Recorded also in North America.

Distribution in Romania. Epigeal records. Sighişoara (LM21), Mehadia (FQ07) (both: Kuthy 1896); Braşov (LL85) (Petri 1926); Bucegi (LL82) (Ieniştea 1941); Craiova (GQ11) (1940, Eichler leg., Ieniştea det. (unpublished list) (Fig. 17).
