Diagnosis
Jurapecten in which the marginals bear a sculpture of discrete, rounded rugosities and 1–3 larger spine bases on inferomarginals. Ambulacral base short.
Material examined
The type specimen, NHMUK EE 13594, consists of a set of associated ossicles from the upper Oxfordian (Couches d’Effingen, bifurcatus ammonite Zone, stenocycloides ammonite Subzone) at Savigna, near Orgelet (Département du Jura, France; see Gale 2011 a, 2011b). Additional material comprises several hundred ossicles and groups of associated ossicles from the type locality (NHMUK collections).
Remarks
There is little new information or material since the original description by Gale (2011 a, 2011b); differences with J. infrajurensis sp. nov. are discussed under that species (see below).
