Holotype (NHM): card-mounted, mounted on glass slide pinned together with the specimen, “Holo- \ type” [round label with red border], “3749.” [in Broun’s hand], “Pudding \ 8.3.1913.“ [in Broun’s hand], New Zealand. [red underline] \ Broun Coll. \ Brit. Mus. \ 1922-482.”, “ Cyphon \ burrowsi .” [in Broun’s hand], “Holotype \ Cyphon burrowsi \ Broun \ det. T. Nyholm 1981” [in Nyholm’s hand].

Remarks. Broun (1915) studied a single specimen collected on 8.03.1913 by L. Burrows on Pudding Hill near Methven.
