Nicsara Walker

Nicsara falcata Redtenbacher 1891 is formally transferred from Nicsara Walker 1869 to Austrosalomona Rentz 1988 . This was suggested by Rentz (1988) for it and a number of other species and the combination was used in Rentz (1996) but the formal transfer has never been made or justified until now. The type series of N. falcata, now Austrosalomona falcata (Redtenbacher), is in the Naturhistoriches Museum, Wien. The lectotype (Fig. 1) is here designated with the type locality of the specimen labelled “Northern Australia ”. This is a common species along the coast from Bateman’s Bay, New South Wales north to the vicinity of Cairns, Queensland.
